SURFING THE MENU

ABC, 8pm

WHEN Curtis Stone and Ben O'Donohue visit Rottnest Island they have a larger-than-life tour guide. In fact, the bloke that shows them around, Fremantle local and former Chicago Bulls basketball player Luc Longley (pictured), is larger than most people. So he knows his grub. In this episode also, part of a series where two British-based Aussie chefs take their surfboards around the country, the boys get a chance to get their boards wet. In Fremantle they hook up with Longley's uncle John, who sailed on Australia 2, the America's Cup-winning yacht, before jumping on a custom-made boat to the island. O'Donohue's career began in a tearoom on Rottnest, so he knows where to find some decent waves. They go snorkelling for lobsters, search for octopus at dawn and visit a brewery. I'm really, really, jealous.

THE NEXT JOE MILLIONAIRE: AN INTERNATIONAL AFFAIR

Prime, 12pm

I RECKON daytime television is an untapped resource for trashy reality television. Rather than bury shows late at night, why not throw them on among the infomercials? This show is the sequel to the Joe Millionaire series that had a bloke who was not rich pretend he was, while girls fought for his affection. It dogged in the United States, but considering its competition here is Indonesian News and Leyland's Australia you're not likely to mind.
